Energy

Time to Stop Talking and Start Doing

Timeless Designs Corporation is tired of hearing politicians posture over breaking our country of its oil addiction, and various pundits postulating about research and the government grants required to fund it. Mathias Island at Fortune Bay will be the community of the future, where new energy technologies are put to practical use for every day living on a grand scale. This small city will not consume a single milliamp of electricity generated using heavy metals or fossil fuels. The following are just a few technologies we're working to integrate into our master plan.

Oxyhydrogen (HHO)

By using the process of electrolysis, one can separate water molecules into oxygen and hydrogen gases and create a very efficient and clean fuel for internal combustion engines. This fuel is called oxyhydrogen, sometimes referred to as "hydrox" or "hydroxy", and also known as "HHO".

Wikipedia provides this definition:

At normal temperature and pressure, oxyhydrogen can burn when it is between about 4% and 95% hydrogen by volume. When ignited, the gas mixture converts to water vapor and releases energy, which sustains the reaction: 241.8 kJ of energy (LHV) for every mole of H2 burned. The amount of heat energy released is independent of the mode of combustion, but the temperature of the flame varies. The maximum temperature of about 2800 °C is achieved with a pure stoichiometric mixture, about 700 degrees hotter than a hydrogen flame in air.

This fuel can be burned to heat a home or power a vehicle, or it can turn a turbine to cleanly generate electricity. It can also be used in fuel cell technology. We are very excited about the possibilities afforded by this fuel.

Solar

A well-proven technology, solar power is leaping forward in popularity. It is eminently available, and rapidly becoming both more efficient and less expensive. The Mathias Island at Fortune Bay community will have ample surface area for the application of photoelectric generators, from marina dock covers to building roofs to the surface of our huge domed arena. TDC plans to extensively use solar energy to provide power to the entire community.

Wind

Marquis Wind Power, a Folsom, CA, company, has developed a wind turbine designed to be integrated into buildings. It is our intention to supplement our power generation with such turbines built seamlessly and unobtrusively into our many high rise residences and office buildings.

Algal Biodiesel

Another area of research that is showing promising results is that of algal biodiesel, or diesel fuel generated by algae. Algae is grown in an enclosed area and fed biomass, excreting fuel oil as waste. This technique will also likely be used as an integral part of Fortune Bay's waste management systems. The diesel fuel can then be harvested and burned to drive electrical turbines to generate electricity.
